Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains how your personal data is collected and used when you request a quote through this site — whether that's the food waste collection form, or the general waste enquiry form on our homepage. Please read it before submitting either form.
1. Who we are
Netstar Limited ("we", "us") operates ukcommercialwaste.com and is the data controller for the details you submit to us.
Registered in England & Wales, company number 06018540.
Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.
We are a lead introducer. We do not collect or dispose of waste ourselves; we pass your enquiry to a licensed third-party waste supplier who contacts you with a quote.
2. What we collect
When you complete a quote form, we collect: your business name, your name, email address, phone number, postcode, and details of the waste service you're interested in (such as waste type and, for food waste, collection frequency). We also record the date and time of your enquiry and the consent you gave.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details for one purpose: to arrange a no-obligation quote for scheduled waste collection. To do that, we share your details with a licensed waste supplier (see section 4), who will contact you about your enquiry.
Our lawful basis under the UK GDPR is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time (see section 7).
4. Who we share it with
To provide your quote, we pass your details to a third-party licensed waste management supplier. At present this is:
Business Waste Limited
Registered in England & Wales, company number 09144664.
Artemis House, Eboracum Way, Heworth Green, York, YO31 7RE.
Once your details are shared, that supplier acts as an independent data controller and handles your data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your details to any other party, and we do not share them with anyone other than a waste supplier for the purpose of your quote.
5. Marketing
We contact you only in relation to the quote you requested. We will not use your details for unrelated marketing unless you separately agree to it. The waste supplier may contact you about your quote and, where they have the appropriate lawful basis, about their services — this is covered by their own privacy policy.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry details for as long as needed to respond to you — to arrange and follow up a food waste quote, or to get in touch about a general enquiry — and to keep a record of the consent you gave, after which they are securely deleted. In practice this is normally no longer than 12 months from your enquiry unless a longer period is required by law.
7. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
8. How to contact us
For any privacy request or question, email privacy@ukcommercialwaste.com. (Set this address up, or replace it with the email you want to use.)
9. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Cookies and analytics tools
We use the following tools to help us understand how visitors use this site, so we can improve it:
- Google Analytics — collects data about how you use the site (pages visited, time spent, device and browser type, and approximate location from your IP address) using cookies, so we can understand overall traffic and usage patterns.
- Google Tag Manager — a tool we use to manage and deploy tracking tags on this site, including Google Analytics. It does not itself collect personal data beyond what the tags it manages collect.
- Microsoft Clarity — records anonymised information about how visitors interact with the page, such as mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling, to help us understand and improve the user experience. This may include session recordings. Sensitive fields, including this site's quote form, are configured so their content is masked and not recorded.
- Google Ads Enhanced Conversions — when you submit a quote form, we send your email address and phone number to Google in encrypted (hashed) form, so Google can match your enquiry to the advert that brought you here. Google cannot read your actual email or phone number from this — only a scrambled, one-way version of it — and uses it solely to measure which adverts are effective, not for any other purpose of its own.
- Google Click ID (GCLID) — if you arrive at this site by clicking one of our Google adverts, we store a short reference code from that click so we can later tell Google Ads which adverts led to genuine enquiries. This isn't shared with Business Waste or anyone else.
These tools are not strictly necessary for the site to function, so under UK data protection law we ask for your consent before they're activated. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are delivered together through Google Tag Manager as a single choice, rather than separately. You can accept or decline this when you first visit the site, and change your choice at any time.
